DAY 1: After leaving Athens, our first  stop will be the Corinth Canal where you can gaze the breathtaking view from the bridge and take great photos.  Later on, in the Peloponnese, explore the beautifully preserved remains of Mycenae, one of the most important sites in Ancient Greece, home of the legendary Agamemnon, leader of the Greeks during the Trojan War. Our next stop is at the UNESCO-listed Sanctuary of Asklepios, first healing center of the Ancient World. You will also see the impressive Theatre of Epidaurus, one of the most visited ancient sites in Greece. Then, we will reach the historic Nafplion & first capital of modern Greece with its dominating Palamidi castle overlooking the Venetian quarter, now housing many local crafts shops which are a joy to explore. Enjoy lunch in one of the seafront taverns in view of the impressive Bourtzi fortress lying in the bay before continuing for around two hours to Monemvasia. Originally separated from the mainland by an earthquake, the Gibraltar like rock of Monemvasia was an ideal inaccessible natural fortress for settlement in the 6th century by the local inhabitants seeking protection from Slavic invaders in the 6th century.

DAY 2: After breakfast we head to north to visit the 800 year old ruins of the Medieval city & UNESCO site of Mystras, once seat of Byzantine power in the region & replete with palaces, residences, mansions, churches and monasteries, water & drainage works, commercial workshops, extensive streets & fortifications. Take your time exploring this extensive site before continuing towards the Mani Peninsula. Famous for its tower houses built to protect the local population from the piracy & dangerous times during medieval life up to the nineteenth century, its inhabitants are also the descendants of the Ancient Spartans & this combination of geography & hardy people kept the region independent to develop its own character from the rest of Greece and our tour chooses several of the most beautiful routes, distinct villages & beauty spots of the peninsula to explore, before a comfortable overnight in one of the villages of the Peninsula.

DAY 3: Today our tour is dedicated to the Mani Peninsula touring the main routes and stopping at the main sites, villages & beauty spots. We can include the Caves of Diros where you can take a boat ride through its many chambers to emerge finally at the sea. Finally, after enjoying the routes & sites of Mani we come to its Capital Kardamyli where you can spend time to shop for a souvenir & have lunch or a drink by the sea before your return.

Afternoon: Say goodbye and return to Athens.
